Warhammer-Fanatic to go Slaanesh

Though be assured dear reader, I have no intention of following the Prince of Excess permanently. No an Iron Warrior player am I, and Chaos Undivided will I always be, otherwise, it would have been Fulgrim that I represented in Daemon Prince form and not Perturabo.

Any way, "enough with all this intrigue W-F, tell us why you are going Slaanesh!?" I hear you cry. Well it's simple, if you are able to, cast you mind back to the 3rd Edition Chaos Space Marines Codex, if you can't recall this version, don't worry, all will become clear in the long run.

Any way, the 3rd Edition codex had 4 special characters, three of which survived into the 4th/5th editions, these being Abaddon (before we discovered his first name to be Ezekyle), Kharne the Betrayer, and Ahriman of the Thousand Sons. So if you are familiar with the codex, you will know who is missing.

But for those who are jumping up and down in there seats shouting at the screen wanting to know just who it is I speak of, well allow me to explain.

As you will be aware with the current editions of the Chaos codex, there is a Character who serves Slaanesh, namely Lucius the Eternal, a Chaos Lord type character who seems to be armed with nothing more than a whip, a sword, and a terrible lust for all things bordering upon the realms of sado-masochism.

You might believe him to be the best character to worship Slaanesh in the game, but there is one out there, who has all but been forgotten, one character who worshipped Slaanesh, and was far cooler than Lucius could ever possibly be.

Now, not only was this particular character counted as a Daemon Prince, but he also counted as a Daemon Prince, on a bike with might I add a Jump Pack that allowed him to ignore all difficult and dangerous terrain.

Not only that, his bike came armed with daemonic variants of the twin linked bolters, plus he had a daemon sword.

I am of course speaking of the Slaaneshy character, DOOMRIDER!.

I realise that you will now be wanting me to get to the very point of this journal entry, as to why I posted it in the first place. Well recently I was browsing through the art that I add to my favourites gallery and my sub-galleries, when I came across a peice of art work by the DeviantArt member MaKo85 [link] which features the character of Doomrider with two of his, shall we say... "favourites".

I would like to thank MaKo85, for allowing me to include his favourites in the modelling project I hope to carry out, which will involve Doomrider, minus his bike (he will be on foot), for gaming purposes, but I hope to make a scenery stand when the model is not in my gaming box which will include the bike in the background, and a place for him and his two favourites to stand and do what they do.

In regular games of 40K he will be a Chaos Lord with daemonic abilities, but in Apocalypse games, he will be DOOMRIDER. I might also make a version on the bike for balance and modelling technique comparisons.

Well, that's all for the moment, keep watch for updates and notes, in time, it will be up on DA.

Cheers.

W-F.
